1. Traffic safety maintenance：intelligent perception and monitoring of transportation infrastructure; transportation system operation management, maintenance and safety operation.
2. Intelligent transportation system：traffic information collection, procession and publishing; intelligent transportation planning; intelligent design of comprehensive transportation; intelligent management and scheduling of public transportation.
3. Transportation planning：the theory of modern transportation sustainable development; urban transportation planning dominated by public transportation; theory and method of public transportation planning and management.

Academic leaders and backbones mainly include:

Professor Du Yanliang, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, is an expert in structural condition monitoring and safety control of large engineering. He has been engaged in a long-term research on safety monitoring and reliability evaluation in the field of transportation engineering. He has won 18 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, including 1 first prize and 2 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 first prize and 2 second prizes of National Teaching Achievement Award.

Professor Ren Weixin, a distinguished professor of Yangtze River Scholar, is one of the first batch of national candidates with millions of talents. He has been engaged in long-term research on health monitoring, damage identification and safety performance evaluation of long-span cable-stayed and suspension bridges and bridge structures. He has published more than 150 international first-class journal papers, and has been selected into the list of Chinese highly cited scholars in the field of civil and structural engineering of Elsevier for five consecutive years.

Professor Zhu Jiasong, his research direction is intelligent traffic system, coastal zone mapping, UAV application, etc. He has published more than 50 papers in Chinese and English, won 1 first prize and 2 second prizes of Science and Technology Progress Award of Geographic Information, 1 first prize of progress award of Science and Technology Progress Award of Surveying and Mapping.

Curriculum

The curriculum design reflects the principle of combining theory with practice, including degree course, non-degree course and engineering practice. The core curriculums contain: 《Traffic Planning Theory》,《Traffic Flow Theory and Control》, 《Traffic System Modeling and Simulation》, 《Geography Information System -Transportation》, 《Operational Research》.

Educational Resources

To provide postgraduates with excellent practice and learning conditions, relying on Institute of  Urban Smart Transportation & Safety Maintenance, Shenzhen University and Civil Engineering Simulation Laboratory, with a total area of nearly 2800 m², covering main directions and related disciplines of transportation, equipment worth more than 30 million yuan, has a good experimental and practical teaching conditions. The off-campus joint education and cultivation base includes well-known enterprises and institutions in the transportation industry, such as Shenzhen Transportation Committee, Shenzhen Urban Transportation Planning and Design Research Center, and Shenzhen Metro Group.
