In order to summarize the achievements and outline the blueprint, on the afternoon of January 23, 2024, the College of Civil and Traffic Engineering of Shenzhen University held the 2023 annual conference and the launch ceremony of the 40th anniversary celebration in the multi-function hall of the Alumni Square of Yuehai Campus of Shenzhen University. The theme of this annual conference is "Concrete heart to build a dream and seek development, and gather together to open a new chapter".

Li Yonghua, Vice-chancellor of Shenzhen University, Chen Xiangsheng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Dean of the College of Civil and Traffic Engineering, Du Yanliang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zuo Yingzi, Party Secretary of the College of Civil and Traffic Engineering, Long Wujian, Executive Dean, Zou Liang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Yang Lei, Bao Xiaohua, Guo Jun, Ding Zhikun, as well as faculty, retired teachers, and alumni, more than 160 people attended the meeting, which was presided over by Zuo Yingzi, Party Secretary. 

In his speech, Vice-chancellor Li Yonghua affirmed the outstanding achievements made by the School of Civil and Traffic Engineering in discipline construction, education and teaching, scientific research, social services, etc. in the past year. He pointed out that the College of Civil and Traffic Engineering has made important contributions to the engineering construction and transportation industry of Shenzhen and even the whole country, and has won honors for the university.

 In the new stage of development, Vice-chancellor Li Yonghua made instructions on the high-quality development of the college. He emphasized that the college should continue to maintain and carry forward the fine traditions and styles of tolerance and mutual assistance, inclusive, free exploration, respect for teachers and teaching, and love and dedication to work. Closely focusing on the national development strategy and local economic and social development needs, the college should continuously improve its discipline level and comprehensive strength.

Academician Chen Xiangsheng reviewed the achievements of the college in the past year, showed the current situation of the discipline construction of the college, fully affirmed the hard work of every teacher, and pointed out new ideas and expectations for future development. Academician Chen Xiangsheng expressed the hope that all teachers and students of the college will continue to work together and forge ahead in unity, and make continuous efforts to build first-class disciplines and peak disciplines together.

At the meeting, the staff with outstanding work performance in 2023 were commended, and a total of four awards were awarded: the 2023 Outstanding Leader Award, the Outstanding Contribution Award for teaching and talent Training, the Outstanding Contribution Award for scientific research, and the Best Service Management Award.

The development of the college cannot be separated from generation after generation of educators. This year, Professor Li Dawang of the Department of Civil Engineering of our college retired. Because he could not attend the annual meeting in person, the scene played Professor Li Dawang's educational career review video. Many leaders, teachers and students came out to wish Professor Li a happy retirement and pay high tribute to his hard work in education.

As a representative of the faculty, Professor Zhu Jiasong made a speech. He reviewed the outstanding teachers and predecessors in teaching, scientific research and social services since the establishment of the Institute, and called on young and middle-aged teachers to take up the baton of The Times, work hard to improve the level of teaching and scientific research, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the Institute.

At the meeting, Vice-chancellor Li Yonghua, the entire leadership team of the college and alumni representatives jointly launched the 40th anniversary ceremony of the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering of Shenzhen University. Secretary Zuo Yingzi stressed that all teachers of the College should take the 40th anniversary as an opportunity to sum up the successful experience of the past, focus on the brilliant journey of the future, and push the cause of the college to a new stage.

After the meeting, all the participating teachers and alumni moved to the Alumni Square activity room for an interactive curling game. Through the curling game, the teachers cooperated with each other and cooperated with each other, which jointly demonstrated the spirit of unity and struggle and innovation of the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering.

At 18:00, the annual meeting dinner officially began.

Professor Long Wujian, Executive Dean of the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, delivered the opening speech. On behalf of the college, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the faculty members for their dedication and strong support over the past year. At the same time, he pointed out that the current higher education is facing new opportunities and challenges, and disciplines and industries are also facing rapid development and change. At the dinner party, the appointment ceremony of the chairman of the Sports club was held. Ms. Chen Bixia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the trade union of the College, Ms. Wang Yaocheng, Vice chairman, and Ms. Lin Qianqian presented the appointment letters to Mr. Fei Jianbo, chairman of the Football Club of the College, Mr. Lu Leyang, chairman of the basketball club, Mr. Liao Longhui, chairman of the Badminton Club, and Ms. Ren Xiaoli, chairman of the Walking Club.

Chen Hailang, a Class of 87 alumnus and vice chairman of the Alumni Association of the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, spoke at the dinner as an alumni representative. He said that in recent years, the college has made remarkable achievements in scientific research, personnel training and other aspects, and as an alumnus, he is deeply proud and proud. In the future, the alumni will also work hard together with all the teachers and students of the college, share hardships and share glory.

In order to enhance teachers' friendship, the dinner was held in a warm atmosphere with special teachers' birthday party, interesting commendation voting and random lottery.
